Add & Customize Links to Gale Online Resources
Begin by creating an InfoTrac "start" URL. These take
the same basic form:
http://infotrac.galegroup.com/itweb/{locationID}
where the {locationID} is one of the assigned
location IDs created by Gale for your library. For example, if the
location ID for San Juan Island library is 'sjislib', the start URL for
all Gale databases subscribed by this library would be
http://infotrac.galegroup.com/itweb/sjislib
This links the user to the Gale collection menu, that includes additional
links to each of the subscribed database titles in their collection.
Next (optional but recommended), create separate links on your website
to each title in the collection. This is achieved by adding the database
title code to the URL's query data. Again, these
links take the same basic form:
http://infotrac.galegroup.com/itweb/{locationID}?db={dbCode}
where {dbCode} is the database title code.
A complete list of database title codes is included
on this page.
Include a title description with the link to each database in your
collection. This helps users to identify the correct resource from
the library's list of available titles. A list of sample product descriptions
is included below.

Links
to Individual Titles
Create links to individual titles by adding the title's database
code to the start URL. These links will take users directly to the
search dialog for the title specified, and bypass both the Welcome
page and the Collection Menu.
